may 10

A second box arrived from Canada even bigger than the first.
I was totally bowled over....decided to take it all with me up to Joan's place and we can unpack it
together
Joan and I have been sewing buddies for many years and we are looking forward to our time together and yes I shall take lots of pics of all the things we get up to.

We are hoping to get into the habit of walking each day as we both have weight problems and diabetes threatening. We shall work a few things out on that front during my stay.

Good friends and good wine both get better with time.

I praise the Lord every day for the wonderful caring people he has put to share my path.

This is a box that arrived in the post yesterday.
The white bag of 'stuff' was inside.
I am taking pics as I unpack this veritable treasure trove of goodies.

monday May4

Just can't seem to get the energy to sew at the moment.

I am going to see my friend Joan later in the month and the break will be good for me.
Haven't seen this dear friend for a long time but this is the first I have felt well enough as it is a two day drive.

I shall take pics and share with you all when I get back.

The pic is a tree trunk and the fungus on the right hand side is Phunda stitch. This unique to a form of embroidery called 'Chikan" of Indian origins. usually worked in 1 strand of thread I have worked here in a thicker thread so it looks like they are growing from the tree trunk.

The cottage and the beginning of the Jacarandah which is on the right of embroidery.

monday May 4

this is the last of the 'quick' line embroideries to go in a shaggie quilt.
